SID | Showcases Integrated Solutions at Waste Management & Waste to Energy Asia Summit 2025 in Jakarta

Release Time:

Dec 05,2025

From December 3 to 5, 2025, SID SA participated as a featured speaker at the Waste Management & Waste to Energy Asia Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia. Under the theme “SID SA's Dual Solution: Turning Waste into Cleaner Energy and Smarter Growth,” we shared practical insights and proven case studies in solid waste treatment systems. The summit gathered key stakeholders from across Asia to discuss advances in waste management, waste-to-energy (WTE) technologies, and the transition toward a circular economy.

As the world’s fourth most populous country with over 281 million residents across more than 17,500 islands, Indonesia faces mounting pressure from rapidly growing municipal solid waste (MSW) volumes. Despite ongoing efforts, much of the country’s waste is still disposed of in landfills or through informal dumping, highlighting an urgent need for scalable and sustainable waste treatment infrastructure.

During the summit, SID SA presented its localized, end-to-end waste valorization solutions—from pre-treatment and material recovery to RDF production and energy substitution—drawing strong interest from government representatives, industry leaders, and technical experts alike. Our team engaged in focused discussions with municipal and industrial partners across Indonesia, offering actionable pathways to address the country’s pressing waste challenges.

We highlighted SID SA’s integrated approach to:

● Municipal Solid Waste Pre-treatment – efficient shredding, screening, and sorting solutions

● RDF/SRF Production – reliable preparation of refuse-derived fuels for industrial use

● Air Separation & Material Recovery – separation of light and heavy fractions to enhance purity and value

● Complete System Integration – modular, adaptable designs tailored to local operational conditions

With data from long-running projects in China, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia, we demonstrated the performance stability, energy efficiency, and environmental benefits of SID SA systems—particularly the use of RDF in cement kilns and industrial boilers to displace fossil fuels and lower carbon footprints.

Indonesia Closed Loop Shredding Project

SID SA has been active in Indonesia since 2012, introducing specialized solutions for hazardous waste treatment, cement kiln co-processing, and alternative fuel production. Our locally implemented projects are recognized for their operational reliability and positive impact on waste diversion, emissions reduction, and landfill deferral.

Thailand RDF Waste to Energy Shredding Project

Globally, SID SA has now commissioned more than 1,000 waste treatment projects, reinforcing our commitment to Swiss-engineered quality, innovation, and sustainable impact.

Looking ahead, we remain dedicated to supporting Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asian region with robust, scalable, and environmentally sound waste-to-resource solutions—helping communities and industries turn waste into energy, recover valuable materials, and move closer to a true circular economy.

SID | Why Waste Sorting Matters

Many regard waste simply as "discarded items" that can be mixed without consequence. Yet, within waste management systems, household waste is far from worthless—it is a mixture of resources waiting to be unlocked. The purpose of sorting is to reduce waste, increase recycling rates, and alleviate urban environmental pressure.
