SIDSA | Enlit Africa 2025: Collaborating for Africa’s Sustainable Energy Future
Release Time:
May 22,2025
CAPE TOWN – SID Switzerland (SIDSA) participates in Enlit Africa 2025 (20-22 May 2025, CTICC, South Africa), showcasing comprehensive waste valorisation solutions. Leveraging European-engineered technologies to address Africa’s solid waste challenges, SIDSA engages energy, manufacturing, and environmental decision-makers in cross-sectoral dialogue. As Africa’s premier energy, power, and water event, Enlit Africa 2025 convenes global experts to advance sustainable energy pathways – not merely a conference, but a catalyst for transformative collaboration.

The African continent has untapped resource potential worth about $300 billion, but there are still 30 million tons of hazardous waste per year piled up in the open air due to insufficient processing capacity. Energy shortage and solid waste pollution are intertwined into a double dilemma - the black smoke from diesel power generation has not yet dissipated, and the toxic fog from the burning of industrial waste is permeating the sky. in this green revolution, "resource mismatch" is strangling Africa'sustainable development. Those metal waste barrels abandoned on the grassland and the black smoke rolling in the factory chimneys could have made a cleaner African story.
In recent years, the African Union has successively issued planning documents such as the "African Green Energy lnitiative", "African Energy Partnership Plan", "African Energy Agreement", and "African Energy Strategy 2030", and established the African Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund to encourage countries in the region to use renewable resources such as solar energy, wind energy and hydropower to generate electricity to meet Africa's growing energy and development needs.
SIDSA's Vision: Transforming hazardous waste from environmental burden to energy resource over 50 years of global expertise.
1. Addressing Global Environmental Challenges
As specialists in waste valorisation, SIDSA delivers innovative solutions through:
Alternative Fuel Production: Converting solid waste to SRF/RDF, enhancing industrial energy efficiency.
Hazardous Waste Pre-treatment: Customised technologies ensuring safe, efficient disposal.
Biomass Valorisation: Reducing operational costs while advancing renewable energy transition.

Global Footprint: R&D and sales hubs in Switzerland, Germany, China, India; regional offices across Indonesia, Thailand, Poland, Australia.
2. Core Technologies & Equipment
SIDSA features integrated waste processing systems including:
//SMP system
Shredding-Mixing-Pumping Solutions with material-specific customisation
In the hazardous waste treatment industry, SIDSA is the leader in the design, production and planning of a full set of SMP systems.
//Disc Screen
Size screening for recycling/treatment lines
Specially used for material separation equipment in solid waste treatment, recycling and comprehensive disposal production lines, with excellent screening effect.
//Air separator
Configurable heavy/light fraction sorting with dust control integration
It is mainly used to separate garbage mixture into heavy fractions and light fractions. The inlet and outlet structures can be customized according to site needs to meet the diverse needs of project layout, sealing dust removal, fire protection, etc.
All systems deliver project-specific solutions compliant with EU environmental standards.
