In Anhui Province, a landmark project has set a new global standard: the world's first integrated facility producing liquefied biomethane (Bio-LNG) with carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) from organic waste. This initiative represents not just a breakthrough in energy technology but a tangible model for the circular economy in action.

Key practices driving the energy transition

This project innovatively processes agricultural waste, livestock manure, and municipal organic matter, achieving near-total resource recovery:

✅ Processes 170,000 tonnes of organic waste annually

✅ Produces 13,000 tonnes of Bio-LNG, enough to power 100,000 households for a year

✅ Yields 32,000 tonnes of liquid CO₂ and 50,000 tonnes of organic fertilizer as by-products

By converting agricultural waste into energy and valuable products, the project effectively addresses pressing environmental issues such as crop residue burning and manure pollution, paving the way for a sustainable, industrial-scale waste-to-energy pathway.

SIDSA: The "Industrial Teeth" That Start the Cycle

In such a complex system, the initial size reduction step is critical. Feedstock must be efficiently shredded before it can enter the subsequent anaerobic digestion and liquefaction processes. Tough straw fibers and mixed materials require robust and reliable "industrial teeth" to begin the cycle—this is where SIDSA's shredding technology plays a vital role at the front end of the value chain.

SIDSA' s shredders demonstrate strong adaptability, consistent output particle size, and high processing capacity, ensuring optimal fermentation efficiency and meeting the demands of industrial-scale operations. They provide robust support for the project's continuous and stable performance.

SIDSA's Cross-Industry Shredding Solutions

To date, SIDSA equipment has been successfully deployed in over 1,000 projects worldwide, serving diverse sectors including biomass fuel production, municipal solid waste processing, co-processing of hazardous waste, and alternative fuel preparation for cement kilns. Committed to Swiss standards of quality, SIDSA delivers safe, efficient, and stable system solutions, supporting the global energy transition and solidifying its role as a key enabler in clean energy and resource recovery.

SID | Why Waste Sorting Matters

Many regard waste simply as "discarded items" that can be mixed without consequence. Yet, within waste management systems, household waste is far from worthless—it is a mixture of resources waiting to be unlocked. The purpose of sorting is to reduce waste, increase recycling rates, and alleviate urban environmental pressure.
