SID Showcases Waste to Energy Systems at WETEX 2025 in Dubai

Release Time:

Oct 11,2025

SIDSA recently participated in WETEX 2025 (September 30 – October 2, Dubai World Trade Center), joining environmental and energy enterprises from around the globe. At the exhibition, SIDSA presented solid waste resource utilization solutions, including the SMP System and RDF Production System, addressing the growing demand for the recovery of solid waste, hazardous waste, and municipal solid waste in the Middle East.

Market Demand in the Middle East | Opportunities and Challenges Behind the Data

In Dubai, ambition and innovation never cease to converge. Here stands the Burj Khalifa, piercing the sky and symbolizing humanity's ultimate pursuit of height; while deep-rooted in the desert lies a green ambition, vigorously driving a strategic transition from an "oil economy" to a "circular economy." The UAE and the wider Middle East region face unprecedented challenges in managing solid and hazardous waste. Official and industry data reveal:

👥 High Per Capita Waste Generation: Over 1.5–2.0 kg of municipal solid waste per person per day.
🏞️ Low Recycling Rate: Landfill exceeds 70%.
♻️ Low Resource Recovery Rate: Below 15%.
🗑️ Rapid Growth in Hazardous Waste: Driven by expansion in petrochemicals, building materials, and manufacturing industries, hazardous waste is growing at an annual rate of 8%-10%.
🌍 Carbon Neutrality Goal: The UAE has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Against this backdrop, how to recover resources from solid waste has become a critical issue that the region must resolve.

Spotlight from the Exhibition Floor

During the exhibition, the Swiss Consul in Dubai and the CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority inaugurated the Swiss Pavilion. Pierre Jean Charno, Chairman of the Board of SIDSA China, was present at the Dubai event. He personally introduced SID's complete-line solutions and technological advantages in solid waste treatment and resource recovery, fully demonstrating the company's high regard and long-term commitment to the strategic Middle Eastern market.

Visitors engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the stability and synergistic performance of SIDSA's crushing, screening, and conveying equipment within the integrated solutions. Simultaneously, hazardous waste management companies specifically inquired about the operational stability and safety standards of the SMP System. On site, we used real-world cases to explain equipment selection and adaptation for handling mixed materials from different regions.

SMP System: Suitable for shredding, pre-treatment, and sorting of various solid wastes, hazardous wastes, and mixed municipal waste, achieving efficient volume reduction and impurity removal.

SID | Why Waste Sorting Matters

Many regard waste simply as "discarded items" that can be mixed without consequence. Yet, within waste management systems, household waste is far from worthless—it is a mixture of resources waiting to be unlocked. The purpose of sorting is to reduce waste, increase recycling rates, and alleviate urban environmental pressure.
