SIDSA | Shaping the Future of Waste Management at N-EXPO 2025, Tokyo

Release Time:

May 29,2025

TOKYO – The global environmental technology sector converges on Tokyo Big Sight International Exhibition Centre as the highly anticipated N-EXPO 2025, Asia's largest environmental exhibition, commences today (28-30 May 2025).  SID Switzerland (SIDSA) presents its cutting-edge solutions—including RDF systems, SMP (Shred-Mix-Pump) technology, and integrated solid waste processing lines—positioned at the forefront of sustainable innovation.

1. Japan's Evolving Waste Management Policy & Industry Landscape

Japan continues to implement significant measures in waste management.  In November 2024, the government announced plans to establish ~10 recycling hubs by 2026 for PV panels, end-of-life vehicles, and batteries—including potential mandates for solar panel reuse.  Further reinforcing this commitment, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) launched the "Carbon Neutrality through Waste and Resource Circulation" initiative in 2023.  Backed by a ¥44.5 billion (€265M*) budget (2023-2030), this program accelerates technologies for waste incineration, pyrolysis, and direct biogas methanation to achieve carbon neutrality in resource recovery.

Within this framework, SIDSA leverages its deep expertise in hazardous waste pre-treatment to drive Japan's waste processing advancements.  Since entering the Japanese market in 2000, SIDSA has delivered innovative solutions that transformed the nation's hazardous waste treatment capabilities.

At N-EXPO 2025, SIDSA will engage with global environmental leaders while continuing to provide Swiss-engineered products and services worldwide.  With over 1,000 successful installations globally, SIDSA combines high-standard waste pre-treatment solutions with responsive localised support.

2. SIDSA Technology: Addressing Critical Waste Processing Challenges

SIDSA's featured SMP System—the world's first integrated Shredding-Mixing-Pumping solution—enables efficient processing of diverse waste streams for hazardous waste incineration pre-treatment, co-processing in cement kilns, and industrial furnace applications.

In 2000, facing escalating industrial hazardous waste challenges in Hiroshima, Japanese authorities conducted rigorous evaluations before selecting SIDSA's SMP technology.  Its proven efficiency and reliability swiftly established it as an industry benchmark in Japan.  This landmark project not only delivered a transformative waste management approach but underscored SIDSA's global leadership in hazardous waste innovation.

2001 Japan Tsuneishi Group Project

Of course, at this exhibition SIDSA presents not only hazardous waste pre-treatment systems, but also equipment tailored for other solid waste streams like general industrial waste, municipal solid waste (MSW), historic landfill material, and biomass. Across diverse sectors and industries, SIDSA delivers secure and reliable solutions. Our expert team will share cutting-edge industry trends and insights on-site, collaborating with stakeholders to advance circular economy objectives.

Beyond hazardous waste systems, SIDSA presents solutions for:
